Permalink This was taken in 1969, when my parents were engaged. They look so young and happy — not to mention, pretty cool.

Permalink I wore this necklace of blue beads on silver wire to my sister’s wedding in 1999 as a bridesmaid.

Permalink This is a vintage brooch backed with silver and edged with a pattern of silver filigree. The back is a simple hinged straight pin that hooks under a spring.
It was my mother’s. I don’t know exactly how it came into my possession. I think it’s lovely, but it’s also not something I would ever wear.
Permalink This is a monkey cookie jar. It caught my eye, I bought it … and then I realized I don’t keep cookies in cookie jars. I eat them. So I have this adorable monkey cookie jar, and I never put any cookies in it.
Permalink This little fairy was bought as a gift for me several years ago from my now ex-sister in law. This little figurine reminds me of her perfidy and manipulations, which gives me a sad — but it’s cute and whimsical, and I’m hoping someone else will find joy in it.
The fairy sits 6 1/4” tall, from base to wingtips. Her base is 3 1/2” inches across.
For sell; $10 + shipping.

Permalink A dragon sculpture once gifted to me by my in-laws. It is unique among the dragon sculptures they gave me in that I like it. The dragon appears, despite his snarl and claws, to be friendly and almost playful. I don’t like the dramatic sculptures that try to depict frightening, intimidating beasts. I like a nice, friendly dragon.
Permalink I don’t like dolphins. I do like the ocean, driftwood, seashells, and glass fishing balls. I guess that’s why I was given this — the driftwood and dolphins recall the ocean, so it seems to make sense as a gift for me. As long as the giver doesn’t actually take into account that I think dolphins are murderous, rapey, terrifying beasts who will more than likely one day ride modified bicycles onto land with lasers attached to their heads. Okay, that last bit is unlikely. But still. I don’t like dolphins.
